Groove Slicing Tips

- when using 8 or 16 slicing, make sure the actual slices make sense, that is the groove can be sliced that way.

- always look at the ADSR Amplitude settings. if you feel stuff overlaps, lower release (and possibly decay/sustain)...

- don't leave the original tempo of the groove too much, unless you know what you're doing.

- don't forget to save the song after you're done with grooveslicing.

- if you have a groove at let's say 165.7 bpm and want to preserve that exact tempo, just double-click the tempo field at the top toolbar and enter that value.

Zeron- did you look at at the file menu under preferences? you can preview samples while browsing. Orion kicks every other virtual studios ass hands down period if you know how to do what you are trying to do.... My tips: Try slicing everything up- hell- ANYTHING- even long-assed chunks of wav file...you can move the slices around to wherever you wish in the file and play whatever pieces you want to anyhow...this is more than just a drum loop thing. saving the song after grooveslicing makes the .osp file...

I'm disapointed in Orion Platinum! I have expected that they will work out & change those bad things in program like Can't listen to sample if you browsing etc... Actually there is too much to mention! I mean look at the Fruity Loops. Everything is worked out. You can even play the sounds with your PC keybord!

make sure the length of the loop matches the sample before slicing helps avoid stutters

Tip of the moment
If you mix down your Orion songs into a wave-editor, don't forget to set all samplers to "production quality". To do so, open the samplers that you use in your song, press the "cgf" - button and set them all to "production quality". The instruments will sound a lot better that way. more »
