You are using demo version. In order to save/stream your work, you must buy the software.

When I play my MIDI keyboard and/or turn the knobs on Orion generators & effects I notice very long delays.
Go to Preferences -> Output Device Settings. Choose the best working driver (in this order: ASIO, DirectSound, Wave MME, avoid emulated drivers) and set Latency to the lowest possible value (the lowest possible means the lowest you can use and hear no sound distortions).

These complex songs are killing my PC. How can I reduce my CPU usage?
Press the "CFG" button on each Generator's toolbar and reduce the Polyphony to the minimum that you need (usually the max number of notes being played simultaneously). Some Generators also have "Draft" and "Production" modes but be careful as "Draft" mode can sound quite different on WaveFusion's.

When I try to stream my song to .wav, what I get is only first two seconds. What's wrong?
First, make sure you are in SONG mode. The LENGTH value (at the toolbar) is the number of bars to be streamed. It is set to 1 by default, that's why you get only first few seconds. Set it to proper value (the length of your song, in bars) and you will get what you want.

I wonder how can I insert the presets from Orion Reloaded or files section of the Yahoo! forum?
Under the directory where Orion is installed you will find several directories that hold the presets. Just copy (or unzip if they are zipped) the new presets into the appropriate directories and they will show up in the instruments Presets menu.

I wonder if Orion can sequense my hardware synths like midi-out on the step sequencer?
There is a generator called "Midi Machine", which can control your external equipment via MIDI-Out.

Can Orion use the VST plug-ins from Fruity Loops 3, and if so, how does it find them? Should all VST plug-ins be in the same directory?
The appearance is different but they do work. In Orion, go to Options -> VST effects paths, press Add, and navigate to the fruity "Plugins/VST" directory. Close and re-open Orion and go to: Insert/VST effects. They should be at the bottom if you got the FLoops Vst directory correct. All VST plug-ins don't need to be in the same directory.

I can't seem to make midi-in work. Every time I try all I get is the midi (the red button) blinking but no sound.
Try pressing the play button (or having "engine running continuosly" under output setting and then using midi. You should hear a response from the current generator you are using. Also make sure that you are using the right MIDI channel (the one set under the CFG button of the generator).

How do I automate FX knobs?
Select an FX and press CTRL+E.

Can I load stereo files in Groove Slicer, mono Drums or XR-909?
Yes, but you will be prompted to convert them to mono.

Why do I see unlabeled controls in event editor for some VSTi's (HALion for instance)?
You should send complains about this to the VSTi programmers. It's their fault that they left controls unlabelled.

If I try to assign the "Stereo Widen" effect to a channel, the following error message appears: "Cannot connect this plugin!"
"Stereo Widen" effect, as the name suggests, is an effect to be used with stereo channels, so you can't connect it to channel that is mono (ie. WASP, Bazzline, Drums 4xMono etc.).

Orion Platinum has ReWire support. Does it mean I can connect it to Cubase?
Orion Platinum works in host mode, so you can connect slave applications (ie. Reason, ReBirth) to it, but you can't connect it to other hosts (ie. Cubase).

Why I can't open so many songs downloaded from Orion Reloaded (Orion crashes or error messages appear)?
Be sure that you have the latest version of Orion (available at www.synapse-audio.com). If the song uses Platinum version features (check the song info), you need to have it, of course. If the song uses external VST/DX plug-ins and instruments, you also need to have them.
