If your global mix sounds a bit poor, add a very small amount of platinum reberb on a few channels.
The reverb here is not used to create a hall impression, but a room presense, that will give you more depth and stereal field to your mix. eklectro

Have some downtime where no inspiration is hitting you? Use that time to set up some loops for yourself! Use the DrumRack module to set up some grooves, export them as whole .wavs, and label them with a style and bpm so you can toss them into the sampler later on and do some wild things to them.. who knows, you might even stumble onto a groove that turns into the next big tune here at OC! Jacob Talkington
Except for a few veterans, most of the songs submitted here are clipping rather badly. At the very least, utilizing "analog clipping" option by left-click on the main VU meter can ease the situation. TheWall
For awesome creepy atmosphere, use the Scopion 3's "Silent Night" with a low freguency sim. Dj Drag
Orion is easier to use if you turn "always running" on. Go to "Options > Output Device Settings > Always Running". Now sounds in the sampler and drums module can be previewed when selecting them. Also it is easier to play generators/VSTi's live as you don't have to press play all the time, and notes are previewed in the piano roll, yay!!! :resohead:
Although it may not be glaringly clear, every drum sound has a pitch. If you take the time to adjust the pitch of your drums to match the bassline of your song, it will sound much more full and complete. Jacob Talkington
If you'd like to see on the event editor where a particular knob's starting position is, go into song mode and hit RECORD. Start the song, tweak the knob just a hair, and turn it back to where it was. Hit STOP and the event editor for that particular knob will have a single, level line for the entire song that you can edit easily as needed. Jacob Talkington
Great trance synth sounds with low cpu usage - just add tube distortion to the Bazzline XT, and you have killer trance synths and with almost no cpu usage. Go a step further and add a low cuttoff, high resonance filter delay, and you'll have a deep and full sounding pattern! Jacob Talkington
To get an evil, "broken" sound on the plucked string generator, add some 2-band or tube distortion - as much as sounds good to you, and then use the pattern editor for the Stereo Widen control, and edit it to flicker rapidly on/off. Jacob Talkington
If you like very interesting Sounds, use the VST Northpole Filter-Module. You can even use it on HiHats, where it sounds always different. Using this on the WASP will give a very progressive Sounds. PSi
If you mix down your Orion songs into a wave-editor, don't forget to set all samplers to "production quality". To do so, open the samplers that you use in your song, press the "cgf" - button and set them all to "production quality". The instruments will sound a lot better that way. Michiel
If you're in the play list window then you can hit the [HOME] key to return to the beginning of measure 1. e-effect
If you are playing around with _synced_ LFO's in a WASP machine, it is important to PANIC the song after applying a change, to hear what it will really sound like. (Double-click the STOP button) vildauget
If you're getting low on CPU power _and_ have already been in CFG on your machines to put down polyphony, then wav-write loops from a single machine and load the loops in a drummachine. Now delete the original machine and fx's *after* you have saved your project with a different name (in case you really need to go back to do a changes.) I find this easy procedure inspiring as well. vildauget
When you upload .sfs song to Orion Center (or anywhere else) make sure you have 1) bundled your samples; 2) noted which VST and DX plug-ins were used; 3) added custom wavetables used by WaveDream (or at least info on where to get them); 4) not used AudioTracks, which are not bundled at all. fth
Right-clicking on the mixer EQ section shows a popup menu with option to switch soft saturation on/off. fth
Bazzline only slides 1 step. When sliding over multiple steps you need slides on all those steps. fth
You can goto CFG in the edit screen of the drums module near the bottom right of the screen and change grid size to higher resolutions. fth
Double-clicking STOP button does a full sound reset (a panic button) and rewinds the song to the first bar. fth
You can double click on the pattern length visual in the generator toolbar and a dialogue box opens up which allows you to enter the pattern length. fth
If you have a VST and DirectX version of the same plug-in, always use the VST one if possible, since this will have slightly lower CPU overhead, as well as being capable of automation. fth

You can record parameter changes [events] for a Generator or the Mixer. To edit events just right-click on the knob you want to edit to open the Event Editor. Use the tools in the upper left corner of the window to make changes and the drop-down list, bottom-left, to change to another event. BONES
It is possible to create patterns using different time-signatures by using the "CFG" button in the Piano Roll or Step Sequencer. e.g. To record in 3/4 time just change the "Subdivisions Per Bar" to 12. Turn off "Snap To Grid" to place notes between beats. BONES
To improve system performance use the "CFG" button [on the Toolbar] to reduce each generator's polyphony to the minimum needed. Remember that a stereo generator will need double the polyphony so only use stereo mode when you really need it. BONES
To copy a phrase in the Piano Roll make a selection using the "rectangle" tool. Hold down the CTRL key whilst dragging the selection and a copy will be made in the new location. This technique will also work in the Playlist. BONES
